Action for Bright Children (ABC) Calgary Society began in 1979 as Parents for the Education of the Gifted and in 1982, changed our name to Action for Bright Children (CABC) Calgary Society in order to align ourselves with Alberta Associations for Bright Children ( AABC) which had begun in 1981. ABC (Calgary) Society (or CABC as we like to call ourselves) is made up of a group of individuals with a specific interest in children demonstrating high general intelligence and/or creative abilities and talents. CABC's aim is to promote growth of awareness, understanding and services for these children and their families. We accomplish this through meetings with feature speakers, panel discussions and through special programs for children and families.
